Inside the Lines, Love & Affection

Hello, welcome to my blog.  My share today is for the team challenge my upline, Frenchie, gave us.  We were to design a card using the new paper available for free beginning January 4, 2017 with a $50 order (before tax and shipping).  The paper is called Inside the Lines and it reminds me of adult coloring books.  I used the new watercolor pencils, available January 4th, to color all of my flowers and leaves.  I then used a blender pen to smooth out all of my coloring.  I layered this colored piece onto a layer of Melon Mambo that was embossed with the Petal Burst embossing folder, which was layered onto a card base of thick whisper white card stock.  My flower embellishment is stamped with Rich Razzleberry ink using the Love & Affection stamp set and fussy cut.  I colored it with the Pumpkin Pie watercolor pencil and then stamped the center with Melon Mambo ink.  I hand cut my banner for my sentiment, which also comes from the Love & Affection stamp set and is stamped in Pacific Point.

Card Recipe:
base : Thick Whisper White, 4¼ x 11, scored at 5½
layer 1 : Melon Mambo, embossed with the Petal Burst folder, 4 x 5¼
layer 2 : Inside the Lines dsp, 3¼ x 4½, colored with watercolor pencils
Flower embellishment and banner, scrap Whisper White
Stamp Set : Love & Affection
accessories : 3/8" Ruched Ribbon in Peekaboo Peach, pearls, Petal Burst embossing folder, big shot, fast fuse adhesive
Ink : Rich Razzleberry, Melon Mambo, Pacific Point

Thank you so much for stopping by.

Holly Jolly Greetings

Hello, welcome to my blog.  My card today is for our Team Challenge in which we were given a piece of the Fancy Frost Specialty DSP and we had to make a full card with it.  Then we mail them back to Frenchie (my upline) and then she puts all of the participants into a drawing and the winner gets all of the cards made for that month.

I struggled just a bit with this paper because I wanted to do something cool with it so I inked up my brayer with versamark ink and rolled it over the dsp.  I then heat embossed it with silver embossing powder.  I tried to have a light hand, thinking that just the dots would get the ink on them, but the versamark went onto the background as well.  I liked how it turned out even though it was not what I expected.  I kept with the heat embossed theme and stamped the snowflake onto silver foil paper with versamark and heat embossed it with black powder.  To finish off the card, I added some of the silver Glitter Ribbon from the holiday catalog (pg 37).  I love the neutral colors and all of the sparkle and shine.  My card recipe is below.

Card Base: Thick Whisper White - 5 1/2 X 8 1/2, folded in half at 4 1/4
Layer 1: Basic Black - 5 1/4 X 4
Layer 2: Fancy Frost Specialty dsp - 5 X 3 3/4
Layer 3: Basic Black - 2 1/4 X 2 1/2
Layer 4: Silver Foil paper - 2 X 2 1/4
greeting stamped on scrap of Whisper White

Love & Affection

Hello, welcome back to my blog.  I have a fun birthday card to share with you today using the Love & Affection stamp set.  I started out with a card base of Thick Whisper White cardstock.  My next layer is regular Whisper White embossed with the Festive embossing folder.  Before I adhered it to the card base, I used the Layering Circles Framelits to cut a circle out of the center.  I then adhered it to the card base.  With the same Layering Circles Framelits, I cut one of the scallop circles out of Rose Red and adhered over the circle that I cut out.  Then I layered the cut out circle to the center of the scallop circle.  I stamped some flowers with Stazon ink and then used my blender pens to color them.  I love purple so I colored the big ones with Perfect Plum and the little ones with Peekaboo Peach.  The centers of the flowers were colored with Daffodil Delight.  For the leaves I used Emerald Envy.  My greeting is stamped using the Teeny Tiny Wishes and Birthday Banners and cut out using the Bunch of Banners Framelits.  I added some gold wink of stella to the flower centers and clear wink of stella to the flowers.  After all, a girl can't have too much glitter, right?

Card Recipe:
Thick Whisper White: 11 x 4 1/4, scored at 5 1/2 for the card base
Whisper White: 5 1/4 x 4, embossed with the Festive embossing folder
Rose Red: 3 x 3
scrap Whisper White for flowers, leaves, and greeting

Below I have a complete list of the supplies I used:

Vintage Leaves thank you

Hello, thanks for stopping by.  My share today is a fall thank you card.  It is very simple, but I'm pleased with how it turned out.  I started out with thick whisper white card stock for the base, then added a layer of regular whisper white.  Using my Elegant Eggplant, Tangerine Tango and Daffodil Delight markers, I put the thick end of the marker into the cap and then "flicked" them onto my Whisper White layer creating a random splatter.  It adds just enough to the background.  Using 2 of the leaves from the Vintage Leaves stamp set I created a panel that is layered onto Daffodil Delight and Elegant Eggplant.  I tied some gold ribbon around it before adhering it to the card.  A simple "thank you" stamped in Elegant Eggplant finishes it off.

Card Recipe:

card base: Thick Whisper White - 5 1/2 x 8 1/2, folded in half at 4 1/4
layer 1: Whisper White - 5 1/4 x 4
layer 2: Elegant Eggplant - 2 x 5 1/4
layer 3: Daffodil Delight - 1 7/8 x 5 1/8
layer 4: Whisper White - 1 3/4 x 5

Sunshine Sayings

Hello, welcome back.  I made this card awhile ago, but never shared it on my blog.  I was looking for some inspiration and had Sweet Sugarplum sitting next to Rich Razzleberry and this card was born.  I love the simplicity of this card.  I started with a card base of Sweet Sugarplum then added a layer of Rich Razzleberry.  Before adhering the Rich Razzleberry to the base, I cut the LOVE out of the center using the Sunshine Wishes Thinlits.  I stamped the flowers onto my Whisper White in Sweet Sugarplum ink.  I glued the LOVE across the flower stems and then stamped the rest of my greeting using Sunshine Sayings stamp set in archival black ink.

Card Recipe/Measurements:

Card Base: Sweet Sugarplum 8 1/2 x 5 1/2
Rich Razzleberry 5 x 3 3/4
Whisper White 4 3/4 x 3 1/2
Ink: Sweet Sugarplum, archival black
Stamp Set: Sunshine Sayings
Accessories:  Sunshine Wishes thinlits, big shot, multipurpose glue, fast fuse adhesive, In-Color Enamel Shapes

Double flap Halloween card

Hello, welcome to my blog.  I have a fun Halloween card to share with you today.  I saw a card similar to this over on Dawn Griffith's blog and had to give it a try.  This will be the other card for my club class.

I chose Elegant Eggplant and Old Olive for my color combination with a splash of glitter.  One can never have too much glitter, right?  I used 3 different stamp sets for this card, Ghoulish Grunge, Spooky Fun and Halloween Scares.  For the outside layer, I stamped the brick wall from Ghoulish Grunge onto the Elegant Eggplant with the same color ink. For the stamped image I started with a piece of Whisper White and sponged it with Daffodil Delight and Tangerine Tango.  The moon was a mask made with the 1 1/4" circle punch and punched from a sticky note.  All of the images were stamped in archival black ink using the Spooky Fun and Halloween Scares stamp sets.

For the next layer I have an insert of Old Olive card stock stamped with the spider web from Ghoulish Grunge.  The web is stamped in Old Olive as well.  This panel was sponged the same as the front using Daffodil Delight and Tangerine Tango.  I did the sponging first, and then stamped.
The little spider, the sentiment and the bats are from Spooky Fun and the tree is from Halloween Scares, all stamped in archival black ink

The final layer is a piece of Whisper White stamped with images from the Spooky Fun set.  For both of the moons, I brushed on some clear wink of stella to add just a little more glitter.  Below are all the measurements along with the supplies list.  Thanks so much for stopping by, I appreciate it!

Measurements:
Elegant Eggplant 5 1/2 X 6 1/4, score at 2" with the 6 1/4" on the top
Old Olive: 5 1/4 X 8, score at 4" with the 8" on top
Silver Glimmer Paper: 2 pieces at 3 X 3 1/2
Whisper White: 2 pieces at 2 3/4 X 3 1/4 and 1 piece at 3 3/4 X 5 (for the inside layer)

Card Recipe
Card stock: Elegant Eggplant, Old Olive, Silver Glimmer Paper, Whisper White
Stamp Sets:  Halloween Scares, Spooky Fun, Ghoulish Grunge
Ink:  Elegant Eggplant, Old Olive, archival Black, Daffodil Delight, Tangerine Tango

Cookie Cutter Halloween fall card

Hello, welcome to my blog.  My share today is a card I came up with for our monthly card class.  Two of my friends and I each design cards once per quarter for our club and this month is my turn.  I love the Halloween Cookie Cutter set and coordinating punch.  My base is Crumb Cake and layered with a piece of Rich Razzleberry that has been embossed with the Cable Knit Dynamic Textured Impressions folder.  This folder gives a great impression and I love the look.  My scarecrow is stamped on Shimmery White with Stazon ink.  For the embellishment on the card I used the Layering Squares Framelits, in Pumpkin Pie Glimmer paper and Dapper Denim, along with half of a delicate white doily and some burlap ribbon.  My greeting was stamped using two different stamp sets; Grateful Bunch and Banners for You.  I used the Dapper Denim marker and colored only the section of the stamp image I wanted to come up with a whole new greeting.  The greeting was cut using the Project Life Cards & Labels Framelits.  Some enamel shapes finish off the card.

Jar of Haunts

Hello, welcome to my blog.  I have a fun Halloween card to share with you today.

I started with a Smoky Slate card base and added a strip of Basic Black card stock embossed with the Festive Embossing folder.  A little strip of dsp from Halloween Night Specialty adds some interest.  I cut one of the doilies in half and then sponged it with Pumpkin Pie ink.  Using the layering squares Framelits, I cut 2 the same size, one in Pumpkin Pie and the other in Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper.  The mummy is stamped from the Jar of Haunts set with Smoky Slate ink and cut out with the coordinating Framelits. I added dimensionals to the back of the jar and then added some messy loops with the Silver Metallic Thread and adhered to the card.  My greeting also comes from the Jar of Haunts set and stamped in memento black ink.

For the inside of the card, I stamped the jar image and filled it up with little spiders.  Listed below are all the supplies used for this card.  Thanks so much for stopping by, I really appreciate it!!

Pink blog hop

Welcome to the first ever Ultimate Pink Blog Hop – a collection of ideas from Stampin’ UP! demonstrators all over the globe featuring shades of pink in honor Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Breast cancer has had a personal effect on my life.  Five years ago I lost my Mom to breast cancer.  Then, three years ago last month I was diagnosed with breast cancer as well.  Mine was caught early and I have been cancer free for  three years today.  It's a scary disease and I am thankful for the opportunity to participate in this hop.

For my first share, I am using the Star of Light bundle.  I absolutely love this set and Framelits.  It is so elegant and the sentiments are beautiful.  My inspiration for both of my cards comes from my friend and upline, Frenchie.
Card Recipe:
base: Thick Whisper White, 4 1/4 X 11, scored at 5 1/2
Pink Pirouette: 1 X 5 1/2, 3 1/4 X 4 1/4 and a scrap for the detailed star
Silver Foil strip: 3/4 X 5 1/4 and a scrap for the star
Whisper White: 3 1/8 X 4 1/8
Fancy Frost Specialty dsp: 4 X 3, sponged with Pink Pirouette
Stamp Sets: Greetings from Santa, Star of Light
Ink: Pink Pirouette
Accessories: Rhinestone Basic Jewels, big shot, Starlight thinlits, Stamping Sponges, Dimensionals, Multipurpose glue, Fast Fuse adhesive

My next share is a tribute to my Mom.  As I said before, she passed away 5 years ago from breast cancer, and her birthday was on Halloween so I combined pink with Halloween and came up with this.  I love how it turned out and makes me smile thinking of my Mom.  For the bear, I started with image 1 and stamped in Pink Pirouette, then image 2 with Blushing Bride and step 3 with Melon Mambo.  The little pumpkin comes from Jar of Haunts and was colored with blender pens.  For the hat, I used the bottom part of the pumpkin and hand cut it.  I took my black marker and went around the edges to make it look like it was a stamped image.  I added some Blushing Bride bakers twine to make a breast cancer ribbon for her hat.  The little speckles on the background were made using the Pink Pirouette and Sahara Sand markers.  I used the fat end of the maker, removed the cap, and put the marker tip into the cap and then flicked it out which gives you really nice little speckles.

Card Recipe:
card base: Pink Pirouette, 5 1/2 X 8 1/2, folded in half
Basic Black layer: 3 3/4 X 5
Whisper White: 3 1/2 X 4 3/4 and scraps for the bear and pumpkin
Ink: Memento Black, Pink Pirouette, Blushing Bride, Melon Mambo, Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive, Chocolate Chip
Markers: Pink Pirouette, Sahara Sand, Basic Black
Stamp Sets: Baby Bear, Jar of Haunts
Accessories: Blender Pens, paper snips, Dimensionals, fast fuse adhesive

I am excited you  are here. To continue to be inspired whether you’ve come from the person previous to me or after me (Holly Pedersen) on the list below all participants are listed to help you as you journey among us being filled with pink inspiration.

Holly Jolly Layers PCC#013

Hello, welcome to my blog.  For my share today I decided to play along with Pootles' Colour Challenge #PCC013.  The colors for this challenge are Cherry Cobbler, Chocolate Chip, Emerald Envy and Mint Macaron.

I love using a challenge to get my creative juices flowing so for this card I used the Hostess set called Holly Jolly Layers for the front of the card and Holly Berry Happiness for the inside.  (can you tell that I like holly, LOL) I embossed my base with the Pine Bough Textured folder, which is beautiful.  I had not used it yet so thought it was time to break it in.  I layered some This Christmas dsp onto strips of Chocolate Chip card stock to create interest on the left side of the card.  I stamped my greeting twice, once in Cherry Cobbler and then again in Emerald Envy, onto Very Vanilla card stock.  I used the 1 1/4" circle punch to punch out the center of the Emerald Envy one, and the layering circles Framelits to cut out the Cherry Cobbler.  The Mint Macaron circle was cut from the layering circles as well.  I used some dimensionals to pop up the Holly in the center of the greeting and then added some clear wink of stella to the leaves.  To make my berries red, I used the 1/16" handheld circle punch on some Cherry Cobbler card stock.  I then used some tombo glue to add to my Holly.  For the inside of the card I stamped the sentiment in Chocolate Chip.  For the solid image of the Holly I used Mint Macaron and for the outline image I used Emerald Envy.  I am really pleased with how it all came together.  Thanks so much for stopping by, I appreciate it.   Below is my supply list for your convenience.

Awesomely Artistic

Hello, Happy Monday!  My share today is another quick easy card that I think turned out great and I love it.  I started with a Whisper White card base.  My next layer is Wisteria Wonder stamped in Craft White with the Writing Notes background stamp.  Once I let the ink dry, I stamped Awesomely Artistic in archival black ink in the lower right corner.  Then a layer of vellum just a touch bigger than my swirly scribble.  I used the small scribble and cut it from Whisper White and layered on top of the vellum.  I used the Thoughtful Banners stamp set and then the coordinating Duet Banner Punch for my sentiment.  I stamped on black cardstock with Craft White ink.  To finish it off I added some silver sequins.  That's all for today, thanks for stopping by.

Swirly Bird

Hello, welcome to my blog.  My share today is a really quick easy card.  I used the Swirly Bird stamp set along with the coordinating thinlits, Swirly Scribbles.  My card base is Soft Sky and then I embossed another layer of Soft Sky with the Lucky Stars folder.  I only embossed the top half of the layer because I wanted the bottom half to look like water.  My sun was stamped with Daffodil Delight with a "scribble" cut out of the same color.  My little boat was stamped with Dapper Denim and Watermelon Wonder.  I fussy cut the boat and sails as one piece and adhered with dimensionals.  The water was cut using the wave thinlit from Night of Navy.  The sentiments come from the May Paper Pumpkin.  Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Touches of texture

Hello, welcome back.  My share today is a card I made for my up coming card buffet.  I have never hosted one before, so I hope it goes smoothly and that I have people show up. LOL.  Touches of Texture did not make my first list and then even after I got it, I wasn't sure I would use it.  Well, can I say, I love how this card turned out, and it was so simple.

My card recipe is:

Card base -  Very Vanilla 8 1/2 X 5 1/2 scored at 4 1/4
Dapper Denim - 5 1/4 X 4
Very Vanilla - 5 X 3 3/4

I stamped the flower and dragonfly on the Very Vanilla piece with Always Artichoke using the Touches of Texture stamp set. I then used Dapper Denim for the petals an in hindsight, I think I should have stamped off first (like I did on the inside).  The greeting is from Better Together and stamped in Dapper Denim.  The background stamping is from Touches of Texture as well.  For the border I stamped in Sahara Sand and then used Crumb Cake on the splatter.  I used a blender pen and Delightful Dijon ink to color the dragonfly.  A little of the new burlap ribbon and some gold thread finish it off.  Listed below are all of the supplies used on today's project.  Thanks so much for stopping by.
