Painted Harvest Christmas

Hello, thanks for stopping by.  My share for you today is a Christmas card made primarily with a non-Christmas stamp set.  Painted Harvest is wonderful and is so easy to use.  My card base is Thick Whisper White followed by a layer of Real Red embossed with the Holly embossing folder.  A strip of Quilted Christmas dsp (design series paper) is the next layer up and then a square of the same paper stack, just a different print.  I used the largest square from the Stitched Shapes framelits to cut a piece of Whisper White and stamped the full image of the wreath with Lemon Lime Twist and the detailed image in Garden Green.  I then stamped another layer of Lemon Lime Twist with the full image again, turning the stamp to add some more texture to the wreath.  I saw Patty Bennett do this and think it adds so much to the stamped image.  I added some holly berries with Real Red ink.  The bow for the wreath is stamped with Real Red ink on Real Red cardstock using the Beautiful Bouquet stamp set and then cut with the Bouquet Bunch Framelits.  My greeting comes from Star of Light and then cut with the Bunch of Banners framelits.

For the inside of the card I stamped another wreath, the same as I did on the front.  I added a couple of strips of dsp cut into banners along with a sentiment from Hang Your Stocking.

Measurements are as follows:
Thick Whisper White: 8 1/2 x 5 1/2, 2 3/4 x 2 3/4, 3 x 3/4
Real Red: 4 x 5 1/4, plus scrap for bow
DSP: 4 1/4 x 2, 3 x3, 2 x 3/4, 1 5/8 x 1/2
Garden Green: 3 1/4 x 1

Country Livin'

Country Livin' with the new Stampin' Blends

Hello, and welcome to my blog.  My share for you today is a card I made for a co-worker's birthday.  I knew I wanted to use the boots from Country Livin' and the Stampin' Blends markers.  I stamped the boots with Momento Tuxedo Black ink and then cut them out with the 2nd largest Stitched Shape Framelit circle.  For the coloring, I used both light and dark markers of Crumb Cake, Bermuda Bay, Smoky Slate and Pool Party.  I started out with the light Crumb Cake and colored one entire boot. I went in with the dark marker and went over the shading lines on the stamped image.  I did this a couple of times until I was happy with the color and then did the same thing on the other boot.  I colored the accents in Bermuda Bay and the soles of the boots in Smoky Slate.  I then used the Pool Party under the boots to ground them.  This piece was then layered onto a Crumb Cake circle cut with the 2nd largest Layering Circles Framelits and then layered onto a Bermuda Bay scallop circle cut with the largest scallop from the layering circles.  The card base is Bermuda Bay with a layer of Crumb Cake.  Before adhering the Crumb Cake layer I used the brick mask from the Pattern Party masks and applied a layer of embossing paste.  After that dried, I ran the Crumb Cake, Soft Suede and Cajun Craze ink pads over it and then adhered it to the card base.  The sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes and punched with the classic label punch.  To finish it off I added 2 pieces of burlap ribbon and a little piece of the copper trim.  Thank you so much for stopping by, I really appreciate it! Below, you will find the supplies list.  Just click on any image to shop in my online store.

Measurements:
Bermuda Bay: 5 1/2 x 8 1/2; 3 1/2 x 3 1/2; scrap for classic label punch

Whisper White: 2 3/4 x 2 3/4; scrap for sentiment

Painted Harvest

Hello, thanks for stopping by.  It's been awhile since I posted so I appreciate you hanging in there with me.  My share today is with the new Painted Harvest stamp set found in the Stampin' UP! holiday catalog on page 49.  I absolutely love this set.  It makes gorgeous flowers with very little effort.  For this card I stuck with the "traditional" fall colors.  I do classes with a fellow demonstrator and we just hosted a Christmas/Fall workshop.  This was my fall contribution.

Measurements:
Very Vanilla: 8-1/2 x 5-1/2 folded in half at 4-1/4 for the card base, 4 x 5-1/4
Early Espresso: 1-1/4 x 4
Painted Autumn design paper: 1 x 4
Crushed Curry mini chevron ribbon: 5" and then about 3" for the knot

Instructions:
  • Using Crushed Curry ink and the largest flower image, stamp randomly on Very Vanilla layer 3 times
  • using the smaller flower and Cajun Craze ink stamp over the large flowers
  • the flower center is stamped with Soft Suede, stamped off then onto card layer
  • little dots are stamped with Early Espresso ink in the center of the flowers
  • with Lemon Lime Twist ink randomly stamp the solid leaf image
  • with Garden Green stamp the detailed leaf image over the solid images
  • stamp greeting with Early Espresso, adhere layer to card base
  • adhere dsp (design series paper) to the Early Espresso strip
  • wrap 5" piece of ribbon around dsp and adhere to the back, then adhere to card front
  • tie a knot around your ribbon using the 3" piece of ribbon
  • stamp leaves on inside of card - see below

That's it for today, thanks again for stopping by.  I greatly appreciate it!!

Detailed Dragonfly

Hello, it's so good to see you here.  I have been missing for awhile, but I'm back now.  My share today was put together with some paper scraps I had laying on my table.  A while back I had stamped the dragonfly and then never did anything with it.  I was tidying up my area and ran across it so thought I would put it to good use.
Card Recipe:
Base: Crumb Cake, 8½ x 5½ folded in half at 4¼
Whisper White: 2¾ x 2¾ & 4½ x 3¼
Elegant Eggplant: finished size 2 5/8 x 2 5/8, cut with Stitched Shape Framelits, square
Design Series Paper: Eastern Palace Specialty - 1 x 5½, Subtle Stack Wisteria Wonder 1 x 5
Dazzling Diamonds glimmer paper 4½ x 3¼
Stamp Sets: Timeless Textures, Jar of Love
Ink: Crumb Cake, Sahara Sand, Wisteria Wonder, Perfect Plum, Elegant Eggplant, Clear Wink of Stella, VersaMark
Accessories: Stitched Shape Framelits, Banner Triple Punch, Detailed Dragonfly thinlits, white embossing powder

Directions:
  • using the flourish stamp from Timeless Textures, stamp the card base using crumb cake ink
  • using the polka dots from the same set, stamp randomly with Sahara Sand ink
  • punch both of the 1" strips with the Banner Triple punch, adhere to card base
  • make some splatters on the Elegant Eggplant square with the clear wink of stella pen.  You can do this by hitting the wink of stella against another marker
  • using VersaMark ink and the Jar of Love set, stamp Hello onto the Elegant Eggplant square, heat emboss with white embossing powder. Adhere to white square and then to card base.
  • on the other whisper white piece trace the largest detailed dragonfly thinlit with a pencil.  Samp the wings randomly using the flourish stamp and Wisteria Wonder, Perfect Plum and Elegant Eggplant inks.  Make sure you clean the stamp between each color.  Fussy cut just the wings, you don't need the body for this part.
  • cut the largest detailed dragonfly from the glimmer paper and adhere to the wings you stamped.  Add to Elegant Eggplant square
Well, that does it for today.  Thank you so much for stopping by!!  I really appreciate it.

Rockets for Tanner

Hello, welcome to my blog.  My share today are items for my grandson's 6th birthday.  He is having a space themed party today so I had to dig out my punch art skills.  For his card, I started with a card base of Whisper White, added a layer of real red and then a layer of Basic Black.  With the largest circle from the Layering Circle framelits I made a moon out of Basic Gray.  for the "craters" I used the ¾" punch, ½" punch and the largest hand-held circle punch.  The Rocket is made from the Layering Oval framelits, the Up & Away thinlits, the Owl punch (for the black and silver circles), and the Blossom Bunch punch.  The stars were punched from gold glimmer paper and the star border punch.  The 6 is cut from silver foil using the Large Numbers framelits.  My daughter made juice bottles into rockets and wanted a sign for the table.  This is what I came up with for her.

All of the same supplies were used on this rocket with the exception of the Owl Punch.  I used the ¾" circle punch and the  ½" circle punch.  The stars on the sign were punched from one of the retired star punches.  My base is Thick Whisper White card stock and the letters were cut from Basic Black using the Large Letters framelits.  All of the measurements and supplies list are below.  Thanks so much for stopping by!

Measurements:
Card Base - Whisper White, 11 x 4¼ scored at 5½
Real Red - 5¼ x 4
Basic Black - 5 x 3¾
scraps of Basic Gray, Real Red, Whisper White, Gold Glimmer paper and Silver Foil paper
Sign:
Thick Whisper White - 10 x 8½, scored at 5"
scraps of Basic Black, Real Red, Whisper White, Silver Foil

Snow Friends Thank You

Hello, welcome to my blog.  My share today is a thank you card I made using the snow friends framelits die.  I love purple and snowmen, so combined them to get this card.  I started off with a card base of Elegant Eggplant and then layered it with Wisteria Wonder passed through the big shot with the Softly Falling embossing folder.  My "snow" is a strip of dazzling details glimmer paper, cut in half with a wavy line.  I then layered the 2 halves on top of each other.  I used shimmery white to cut out my snowman using the Snow Friends framelits. The hat also was cut from the same framelit set.  The hat band is just a hand cut strip of real red glimmer paper.  I also used the real red glimmer paper to cut out a heart using the owl builder punch.  My greeting is stamped in Elegant Eggplant using the Thankful Thoughts stamp set.

For the inside of the card a adhered a layer of whisper white card stock stamped with snowflakes from the Flurry of Wishes set.  The sentiment is from the Thankful Thoughts stamp set.

Card recipe:

base - Elegant Eggplant, 5½ x 8½ folded in half at 4¼
Wisteria Wonder - 5¼ x 4
Shimmery White - 2 x 3
Dazzling Diamonds glimmer paper - 1½ x 4
scrap Basic Black for hat
scrap Real Red glimmer paper - heart and hat band
Whisper White - 5¼ x 4 for the inside

Jar of Love

Hello, welcome to my blog.  My share today is a card I made a while back and never shared.  This was for one of my coworker's birthday and I just love how this turned out.

I started with a card base of Blushing Bride cardstock and then added a layer of Whisper White stamped with the dots from Timeless Texture in Pear Pizzazz.  The jar is stamped in Smoky Slate on Whisper White and then cut out with the Every Day Jars framelits.  I used both the outline framelit and the framelit to cut the inside of the jar.  I used the outline to cut another jar for the back of my shaker.  On the back jar I stamped some of the flower stems and the water.  The stems were stamped in Pear Pizzazz and the water is Pool Party, stamped off.  I added a piece of window sheet, cut out with the jar outline as well, and added it to the back side of the jar front.  Now I'm ready to put my shaker together.  I added the foam adhesive strips around the edges of the back jar, added some sequins from a past paper pumpkin, removed the release paper on the adhesive strips and then added my jar front.  I then stamped a bunch of flowers and stems and cut them out with the framelit set.  The largest flowers are stamped with Blushing Bride/Watermelon Wonder, the medium flowers are stamped with Bermuda Bay (the first layer was stamped off then full strength for top layer) and the small flowers are stamped with Rich Razzleberry.  A Rich Razzleberry bow finishes off the jar.  Please see below for a complete list  of supplies used.  I appreciate you stopping by today, thank you.

Dragonfly Dreams

Hello, welcome to my blog.  My share today is a thank you card I needed for my mother-in-law.  I got the Dragonfly Dreams bundle in my pre-order but have not had a chance to play with it until now.  It's a fabulous bundle which includes a 10 piece stamp set and a 5 piece thinlits die set.  I started with a Whisper White card base with a layer of Basic Black and another layer of Whisper White.  The top layer of Whisper White I stamped the dragonfly in VersaMark ink and then heat embossed it with a mixture of clear embossing powder and dazzling diamonds glitter.  I then used the thinlits dies and cut it out with the big shot.  Using the scattered dots image from the stamp set, I used Smoky Slate and Wisteria Wonder inks to stamp the background.  This got adhered to the black layer and then onto the card base.  I only used fast fuse on the cutout dragonfly's body and then placed it back into the negative space on the card.  This way the wings are free to fly.  The greeting is stamped in Elegant Eggplant using the Thankful Thoughts stamp set.  A few silver sequins finish off the front.

Here you can see some of the glimmer on the dragonfly.

The inside sentiment was stamped in Elegant Eggplant using the Thankful Thoughts stamp set.  The dragonfly is stamped in Wisteria Wonder and then brushed with clear Wink of Stella.  Thank you so much for stopping by, I really appreciate it.

Balloon Adventures

Happy New Year!  It's hard to believe another year is upon us.  Where does the time go?  My share with you today is using some of the new products in the Occasions Catalog going live January 4th, 2017, so just a couple more days to wait.  It has tons of fun things coming your way.  This card was made for my 5th grandchild's 1st birthday.  His Mommy and Daddy are Denver Broncos fans and that was the theme for his party so I pulled the orange and blue from the Party Animal dsp.  I started with a base of Pacific Point and then a layer of Whisper White embossed with the Confetti embossing folder.  I layered a strip of the design paper onto some Tangerine Tango cardstock and put that along the left side.  Some Emerald Envy 1/8" taffeta ribbon and an embellishment from the Party Animal embellishments finish off the strip.  On the right side I used the Balloon Bouquet punch for the Pacific Point balloon and then layered a cutout from the Balloon Pop-Up thinlits die in Tangerine Tango.  The tail of the balloon was stamped in Emerald Envy ink and finished with an Emerald Envy bow cut from the thinlits die.  The inside was made with a piece of Whisper White cut with the Balloon Pop-Up thinlits die.  I stamped 2 of the balloons in Tangerine Tango and the middle one in Pacific Point.  To the middle balloon, I added a Tangerine Tango cutout.  The banner was stamped in Tangerine Tango and the greeting in Pacific Point.  Another Emerald Envy bow holds the balloon strings together and little strips of the dsp finish off the inside.  I also used the dsp to make an envelope and cut Cole's name out of Tangerine Tango cardstock using the Large Letters Framelits.  Thanks so much for stopping by!!

Card Recipe:
base: Pacific Point, 8½ x 5½ scored at 4¼
Whisper White: 4 x 5¼ - front, 5 x 4½ - inside
Tangerine Tango: 1½ x 5, scraps for balloons
Emerald Envy: scrap for 2 bows
dsp: 1¼ x 4¾, 2 - ½ x 5½ for inside
