Minion Card

My grandson, Tanner, turned three on the 10th and this is the card I made him.  His party theme was Minions so I thought I would stay with the theme.  The cardstock colors that I used are Pacific Point, Whisper White, Daffodil Delight, Basic Black, Soft Suede.  The greeting is from Sassy Salutations.  I started with the Minion's body in daffodil delight and just cut a rectangle.  I rounded the corners and then cut another rectangle in pacific point.  I used a circle punch to curve around his neck and then I used the ticket builder punch to cut the arm holes.  From the daffodil delight, I cut out his mouth so that I could add teeth and tongue to the back side.  I made his eyes and glasses with the circle punches and a hand held punch for the blacks of the eyes.  Some scrap black cardstock added as hair finishes off this cute little guy.

Valentine Mailbox

Hello, my share today is a cute little mailbox made with the mini milk carton die.  I don't remember where I saw this but my husband is a mailman so I just had to make one of these for him.  All you do is cut out your milk carton and assemble like normal except you do not glue the entire top closed.  You will want to cut a little flap that can be opened and closed and with it open, glue the rest of the top closed.  For my handle I just used some of the silver ribbon and attached it to the flap with mini brads.  To make the milk carton look like a mailbox, I just put a strip of Night of Navy around the sides.  To make the legs I used the mini curly label punch.  I used the stamp sets Tape It and Love you to the Moon.

Valentine

I gave this card to my husband on Valentine's Day.  I wasn't sure I would use the new Hardwood stamp that much, but I really love what it adds to cards.  My base is crumb cake with the second layer being cherry cobbler.  The hardwood was stamped on crumb cake with early espresso ink.  I used the Hearts framelits to cut out the heart.  I stamped a smaller piece of crumb cake with the hardwood as well so that I could pop up the top layer and still have my "wood" underneath.  A little sponging around the heart on both layers just makes it really pop.  I used a template cut with the smallest heart from the hearts framelits to color the little heart with cherry cobbler.  I then added a few lines with the white gel pen.  My greeting came from Love you to the Moon found in the Celebrate the Everyday catalog and is stamped in versamark and embossed with white powder.  A little of the Natural Chevron Ribbon finishes this card off.

Team Challenge & Fab Friday 35

For this card I used the sketch over at Fab Friday and the supplies my upline gave me at this month's meeting.  We were each given supplies from the Good As Gold Card Kit from the Sale-A-Bration flyer.  Her challenge was to make a full sized card with the supplies.  My card base is whisper white, then a layer of basic black and a layer of Bermuda bay.  The fourth layer is the card, cut in half, from the card kit.  I used the envelope liner to cut out a doily using the Paper Doily Sizzlits.  I then cut this in half as well so that I could make 2 cards.  I added some Bermuda bay ribbon to the strip of black card stock and then mounted the greeting from the card kit on top.  I got one of the gold banners from the kit which is where the little star came from.  I wasn't sure what I was going to do with these supplies, but really like how my card turned out.

January 2014 pages

This is the other set of pages I offered in my January class.  I love the Festive Flurries and these ice skating go perfect.  I started off with Whisper White cardstock and stamped the Festive Flurries snowflakes as my background images.  I used smoky slate and coastal cabana.  Then, 3 of the snowflakes were stamped on basic gray and island indigo and embossed and cut out with the coordinating framelits.  I used the Winter Frost Specialty paper for my accents.  The title was stamped with Notable Alphabet and then embossed a little with the Northern Flurry embossing folder.  It's hard to see in the picture, but I also added some of the silver ribbon on the borders.

Team Challenge

Each month at our downline meeting, we are given a challenge by Frenchie, our upline.  For January we were given one of the notecards from the Watercolor Wonder Designer note cards package.  I wasn't sure what I was going to do to my card, but went to my new favorite stamp set, Happy Watercolor.  I stamped my flowers in stazon and then used my aqua pen to color the flowers with Island Indigo ink.  I colored the centers with daffodil delight and added dazzling details to give it some sparkle.  I love all that glitters!  The greeting was stamped in Gumball Green.

Thanks for stopping by, I appreciate it.

Love

Here is another Valentine's card that I came up with.  I love playing with new supplies.

Card Recipe:
base:  Primrose Petals - 5 1/2 X 8 1/2, scored at 4 1/4 and folded in half
layer 2: Basic Black - 5 3/8 X 4 1/8
layer 3: Pink Pirouette - 5 1/4 X 4 - lower section is embossed with the hearts folder from Adorning Accents
stamp sets: Banner Blast - Sale A Bration, Love You to the Moon - pg 25 Occasions Catalog
accessories:  Banner punch - Sale a Bration, Full Heart punch - pg 183 annual catalog, white bakers twine
Ink:  black Stazon, Pink Pirouette, Primrose Petals

For my greeting on the card I stamped directly onto the Pink Pirouette using Primrose Petals.  I then stamped the same greeting on whisper white and used the full heart punch to punch out a portion.  I lined up the words and used dimensionals to adhere the heart.  The little banners are also adhered with dimensionals.

Thanks for stopping by, I appreciate it.

Happy Watercolor2

I cased this card from my upline, Frenchie.  I love, love, love this stamp set.  My base is Whisper White measuring 5 1/2 X 8 1/2 scored at 4 1/4 and folded in half.  The next layer is Costal Cabana - 5 1/4 X 4, next is whisper white - 5 X 3 3/4 and embossed with the Framed Tulips folder.  I used the large background stamp with Crumb Cake, Costal Cabana and Daffodil Delight.  I then used Crumb Cake and Early Espresso to stamp the flower image.  I added a little dazzling details to the center of the flower and the new Natural Chevron Ribbon to finish it off.

Happy Watercolor

WOW, it's been a long time since I posted anything.  I had some heath issues to take care of and boy does it feel good to be back in the stampin room.

Each month my upline, Frenchie, has a challenge for us on the team facebook page.  This month was a color challenge of Crumb Cake, Early Espresso, Pear Pizzaz and Pool Party.  I love this new stamp set found in the Occasions Catalog called Happy Watercolor.  My card base is 4 1/4 X 11 scored at 5 1/2.  My next layer is a piece from the Fresh Prints dsp paper stack.  I then used Pear Pizzaz and embossed it with Arrows embossing folder.  On my top layer I used the larger background stamp with Crumb Cake, Pool Party and Pear Pizzaz.  I did stamp off on each color so that my background did not over power my flower images.  I stamped the flower in Early Espresso, stamping 3 times with only inking the stamp once.  I then stamped the flower on a piece of Whisper White with Early Espresso and then colored it with my Pool Party marker.  I cut it out and attached with a dimensional.  A little crumb cake ribbon and my greeting cut with the new Banners Framelits.  I used the 2 smallest ones.  I stamped the greeting in Pool Party and sponged the edges with Pear Pizzaz.  I added a couple of pearls and some dazzling details to finish it off.

Dec 2013 Pages

Here it is, not quite the end of November and I already have my December scrapbook pages done.  Woo Hoo!!  It seams lately, I have been doing them the day before my class.  I much prefer to have them done earlier so there is not so much stress.  The inspiration for these pages came to me from a card I saw with the chimney and Santa's boots sticking out.  Love how it turned out.  The rest of the pages are really quite simple.

My Supplies Include:

Card Stock:  Whisper White, Chocolate Chip, Cherry Cobbler
DSP:  Season of Style
Stamp Set: Ornament Keepsakes, Notable Alphabet
Accessories:  Cherry Cobbler and Gold embossing powder, Ornament Keepsakes framelits, ticket duo builder punch, Full Heart punch, Tasteful Trims die, Corner rounder punch, Typeset Alphabet dies

BOO Wreath

Today's share is my Halloween wreath.  I am a little late, but thought it was too cute not to share.  I used a solid styrofoam circle as my base.  I cut 6 or 7 pages of Witches Brew dsp into 1/2" X 12" strips and then curled them with my bone folder.  Using straight pins, I attached the strips to the base.  My scallop rosettes were attached to the wreath with a hot glue gun and some Champagne glimmer paper curls finish it off.

Brr Banner

This cute little banner was made at a class I attended using the Build a Banner Simply
Created Kit and the Christmas Banner Simply Created Accessory Kit.  I added some of the snowflakes that were available as a kit as well.  Most of the banners I have seen go horizontal, but I decided to make mine go vertical.  The little wall that it is on is right at my front door and fits perfect.  I could seriously get addicted to making these.

Thanks for stopping by!  I really appreciate it.

Team Swap

Hello, Happy Monday!

This is a really quick and simple card, but I loved how it turned out.  My friend, Frenchie, did a card very similar to this for a thank you.  I loved it so much, I turned mine into a Christmas card.  I used the stamp sets Everything Eleanor stamped in Old Olive and More Merry Messages stamped in Cherry Cobbler and cut with the Apothecary Accents.  The mat for the greeting is stamped in Crumb Cake and then hand cut.   You could stamp the crumb cake first on the base of the card and then mask it to stamp the Old Olive swirls.  I prefer hand cutting it.  The dsp is from the Season of Style stack and I just cut strips of different widths and made them into pennants.  A few jewels give it some bling and finish it off.

Thanks so much for stopping by.

Very Merry

Hello, my share today is a very simple Christmas card.  The pennants are really popular right now, and I just love using them.  I started off with a Cherry Cobbler base and then added a layer of crumb cake embossed with the Beautifully Baroque folder.  I sponged the embossing with a little crumb cake as well.  My pennants are 1/2" x 3 and I used the Season of Style dsp stack to make them.  They are sponged with cherry cobbler.  I added some cherry cobbler seam binding along with whisper white 1/4" stitched grosgrain ribbon and cherry cobbler baker's twine.  My greeting is the Very Merry stamp set stamped in crumb cake.  I punched it with the Small Oval and then mounted it cherry cobbler punched with the Mosaic punch.

Thanks so much for stopping by, I appreciate it!!

November 2013 pages

This month for my scrapbook class I wanted to do fall/Thanksgiving pages. I participated in scrapbook page swaps at convention and got my basic idea from a fellow demonstrator.  Of course I switched it up a bit, but the background stamping was what drew me to these pages.  I love how they turned out.

My supplies:

card stock:  Whisper White, Soft Sky, Sahara Sand, Chocolate Chip
dsp: Sweater Weather
stamp sets:  Gently Falling
ink: Chocolate Chip, Crushed Curry, Sahara Sand, Soft Sky Tangerine Tango
accessories:  Expression thinlits, Autumn Accents die (for my leaves I sprayed them with water and crumpled them up.  after they were dried I sponged with the same color), Hung Up Cute Clips

Very simple pages, but love the look of them.
