Helping Me Grow

Hello, welcome back.  My share today is a card I made for our team facebook challenge.  It was a color challenge using Basic Black, Basic Gray and Real Red.  I had been wanting to try a neutral colored card with just a pop of color so it worked well with what I was imagining.  The last 2 days we have gotten a ton of snow so I am dreaming of spring today.  I started with a Whisper White card base and then layered black dsp from the Neutrals dsp stack.  I bordered my stamped image with a very small Real Red layer and very small Basic Gray layer.  For the stamped image, I used the Thick Whisper White for my stamped image using Archival Basic Black ink.  I then used a blender pen and the Basic Gray ink to color the flowers.  Just a pop of Real Red in the center finishes the flowers.  For my sentiment I merged two of the stamps from the Greatest Greetings set, using the basic black marker to only color the words I wanted.  The stamp-a-ma-jig made it a piece of cake to line up both words.  That was punched with the word window punch and layered onto the washi label punch.  A Real Red candy dot finishes off the card.  Thanks so much for stopping by!! I appreciate it.

Baker's Box - Valentine Treats

Hello, welcome to my blog.  I am helping with a fundraiser at work that supports our local animal shelter.  We sell a variety of Valentine items.  I like to make treats for our sale, and this is one style I came up with.  It uses the Baker's Box Thinlit die and then decorated with the Love Blossoms dsp stack.  The sizes I cut the dsp into are 2 pieces of 2 1/2 x 1 1/2, 1 piece of 2 1/2 x 2 1/8 and 2 of 2 1/8 x 2 1/8.  I used items from the Circle Card thinlit and Tags & Labels framelit sets.  The I (heart) You is from the Memories in the Making stamp set.  I used silver and gold glimmer paper for the XOXO.  some of them I layered on black card stock, which really made them stand out.  My boxes are made from Blushing Bride, Real Red, Crumb Cake and Rose Red card stock.  I had 12 x 12 of each color so I was able to get 2 boxes from 1 sheet.  I did use some retired rose red grosgrain ribbon I still had in addition to the White Organza ribbon and the Crumb Cake Stitched Satin ribbon.  I am pleased with how they turned out and they will hopefully bring in lots of money for the shelter.  Each box is filled with chocolate kisses.  Thanks so much for stopping by!!

Hello, welcome to my blog.  My share today is some cute little boxes that holds 2 Ghiradelli chocolates.  I used the video tutorial over on ChickenScratch for my inspiration.  Each Valentine's Day we have a fundraiser at work and the proceeds benefit our local animal shelter.  I volunteer my stamping hobby to help with the fundraiser.  I loved these little boxes and they were so easy to make.  Please see below for a complete supply list.  Thanks so much for stopping by!

Valentine

Hello, my share for you today is a sweet little Valentine.  I saw something like this on Pinterest but it was a baby card.  I love the soft colors on this card.  My base is smoky slate topped with a layer of silver fancy foil designer vellum.  I then cut one of the white tea lace paper doilies in half for my next layer.  I topped it off with a blushing bride dsp pennant.  I used the sweetheart punch paired with heart from the itty bitty accents punch pack.  I also added some of the heart sequins from the 2013-2015 in color sequin assortment.  My xoxo was cut with the circle thinlits from silver glimmer paper.  I layered it on top of an xoxo cut in basic gray.  To finish it off I used a vintage faceted designer button tied with blushing bride bakers twine layered on a strip of smoky slate chevron ribbon.  Thanks for stopping by, I appreciate you.

Valentine Scrapbook Pages 2015

Hello, welcome back to my blog.  It's been awhile since I posted and will try in 2015 to post more frequently.  I did some Christmas pages similar to this a couple of years ago and liked the layout so I thought I would use the new Valentine products in the 2015 Occasions catalog.  I used my stampin trimmer to cut most of my black card stock out of the middle, leaving a 1" border all around my vanilla pages.  I then glued my vanilla onto the black and started adding some washi tape.  I used both the sweetheart punch and the thinlit heart that is with the treat bag thinlit.  I also used the heart border punch for my tiny hearts.  I used the Skinny Mini alphabet set to stamp my title.  Some red and gold glimmer paper with some pearl accents finish off the pages.
Thanks so much for stopping by.

February Pages 2014

These are the pages I did for my February class.  I tried to keep with the Valentine theme and really like how they turned out.  I especially like my little love bug.  My background pages are Rose Red.  I then used Smoky Slate and black for my photo mounting placements.  I added a strip of silver velum across the top and thought the little hearts went perfect with the theme.

Here are all of the items used to build the little bug.

Valentine

I gave this card to my husband on Valentine's Day.  I wasn't sure I would use the new Hardwood stamp that much, but I really love what it adds to cards.  My base is crumb cake with the second layer being cherry cobbler.  The hardwood was stamped on crumb cake with early espresso ink.  I used the Hearts framelits to cut out the heart.  I stamped a smaller piece of crumb cake with the hardwood as well so that I could pop up the top layer and still have my "wood" underneath.  A little sponging around the heart on both layers just makes it really pop.  I used a template cut with the smallest heart from the hearts framelits to color the little heart with cherry cobbler.  I then added a few lines with the white gel pen.  My greeting came from Love you to the Moon found in the Celebrate the Everyday catalog and is stamped in versamark and embossed with white powder.  A little of the Natural Chevron Ribbon finishes this card off.

Love

Here is another Valentine's card that I came up with.  I love playing with new supplies.

Card Recipe:
base:  Primrose Petals - 5 1/2 X 8 1/2, scored at 4 1/4 and folded in half
layer 2: Basic Black - 5 3/8 X 4 1/8
layer 3: Pink Pirouette - 5 1/4 X 4 - lower section is embossed with the hearts folder from Adorning Accents
stamp sets: Banner Blast - Sale A Bration, Love You to the Moon - pg 25 Occasions Catalog
accessories:  Banner punch - Sale a Bration, Full Heart punch - pg 183 annual catalog, white bakers twine
Ink:  black Stazon, Pink Pirouette, Primrose Petals

For my greeting on the card I stamped directly onto the Pink Pirouette using Primrose Petals.  I then stamped the same greeting on whisper white and used the full heart punch to punch out a portion.  I lined up the words and used dimensionals to adhere the heart.  The little banners are also adhered with dimensionals.

Thanks for stopping by, I appreciate it.

Each month my upline, France Martin, gives us some supplies that we have to make a card from and then bring to the next meeting.  Who ever participates gets their name put in the hat and one lucky winner gets all the cards from that month.  For this card France gave me the heart paper from More Amore and the little flower.  I colored the flower with primrose petals reinker and water and added a pearl to the center.
