The Wilderness Awaits with Lovely As A Tree

Hello, welcome back to my blog.  My share today is my take on a masculine card.  I really struggle with these, but definitely have men in my life that I like to send cards to.  I searched Pinterest for this stamp set and found something similar to this.  I had the corrugated kraft paper that I hadn't used yet and think it's kind of manly so I knew I wanted to use a layer of it.  I am trying to use up my 2014-2016 in color supplies so my card base is Blackberry Bliss with a layer of Mossy Meadow next.  I stamped the Elk on Whisper White with Stazon ink and then added some trees from Lovely as a Tree in Mossy Meadow.  This layer was mounted on more Blackberry Bliss.  I got my greeting from Going Global, stamped in Mossy Meadow on a banner of Whisper White.  I sponged the edges with Marina Mist and used the banner punch for the ends.  For my sky I used my sponge daubers with Soft Sky, Marina Mist and So Saffron inks.  I masked off my sun with a 1 3/8" circle punched from a post-it-note.  For my little bow, I cut the surged edges off of the burlap ribbon and then pulled the ribbon apart.  I like this look because it has more texture than linen thread and it's thicker.  Well, that's all for today.  I really appreciate you stopping by!!

  1. Great masculine card, Holly! I have to admit I really like making them, but don't need as many cards for men as I do women.
    Enjoy your day!
