Peaceful Wreath

Hello, welcome to my blog.  My share today is a Christmas card I made using Peaceful Wreath, Holly Jolly Greetings and Embellished Ornaments stamp sets.  I wasn't too sure about the card when I first started it a few days ago, but decided I should finish it before forming an opinion.  Boy am I glad I did because I love how it turned out.  I started out with a basic black base and then layered some retired brushed gold cardstock.  The next layer is another basic black piece embossed with the softly falling folder.  I added a strip of Winter Wonderland designer vellum, Merry from the Christmas Greetings thinlit cut with gold glimmer paper and a gold embossed Christmas.  I stamped the Peaceful Wreath with versamark ink and then embossed it with gold powder.  I added a few dots of dazzling details cherry cobbler for the berries. I used the coordinating framelit to cut it out.  I used the same framelit set to cut the bow from red glimmer paper.  For the inside I stamped the holly in versamark and then embossed with gold powder.  I then mounted it onto cherry cobbler card stock.  The greeting was stamped with cherry cobbler using the Embellished Ornaments stamp set.

Your Presents

Hello, welcome to my blog.  For my share today, I used the Stampin' Gals Gone Wild sketch.  I love using a sketch to get me started because I don't consider myself a very creative person.  A sketch gives me a place to begin.  My base is crumb cake that measures 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 scored in half at 4 1/4.  The next layer I used a piece of dsp from the Merry Moments stack that measures 4 x 5 1/4.  Next is a layer of Cherry Cobbler measuring 4 1/2 x 3 1/4.  Before adhering it to the base, I stamped Joy in Whisper White Craft ink and embossed it with white emboss powder.  The next layer of dsp measures 4 1/4 x 3.  I used the 2" circle punch to create my "window" and then adhered it to the cherry cobbler layer with stampin' dimensionals.  I added a little bow tied with the green 1/8" striped ribbon from the Holiday Catalog.  My greeting comes from Versatile Christmas stamp set.  I stamped it in cherry cobbler and punched with the word window punch.  I sponged the edges with Old Olive and then mounted it on a piece of Dazzling Diamonds glimmer paper punched with the Washi Label punch. On the inside I layered a piece of cherry cobbler (4x 5 1/4) and then a piece of whisper white (3 3/4 X 5).  I stamped the sentiment in Basic Gray, the present in Old Olive and the bow in cherry cobbler.  For the envelope, I used a strip of the dsp to dress it up a little.  Thanks for stopping by!

Your Presents - Birthday Day card

I was cleaning up my stamping room and found this make-and-take from convention this summer that I had never completed.  It was so simple and I love how it turned out.  The stamp set that was used is Your Presents.  I also used Endless Birthday Wishes for the greeting.  The presents are stamped with Delightful Dijon, Watermelon Wonder, and Mint Macaron.  The bow on top of the watermelon wonder  present is stamped in basic gray, as well as the greeting.  The bow on the mint macron is stamped in delightful Dijon.  I used some of the Brights Sequin Assortment to add some bling to the card.  The envelope is made with the In-Color Envelope Paper  Thanks for stopping by!

Marine Corps thank you

The Marine Corps birthday was on November 10th and then with Veteran's Day on the 11th I decided to take a tray of goodies to my local Marine recruiting office.  My son is a recruiter stationed in Denver Colorado as a recruiter supervisor so I hold the Marines near and dear to me.  My card base is Whisper White and then layered with Night of Navy and then a layer of Sahara Sand that was embossed with the Lucky Stars folder.  I then sponged each star with some Sahara Sand ink.  I made a banner of Real Red, Whisper White and Night of Navy card stock.  I have a stamp set that has Marine Corps images so I used that set to stamp the one image in versamark ink and embossed it with gold embossing powder.  The Oorah! was stamped in real red.  I also made tags for their goodies using the For Your Country stamp set.  Thanks for stopping by!

Garden in Bloom

Hello, welcome.  My share today is a card I sent to a friend of mine.  I started out with a base of Tip Top Taupe that measures 8 1/2 x 5 1/2, scored in half at 4 1/4, and then layered a piece of In-Color Mint Macaron dsp from the stack that measures 4 x 5 1/4.  On the Whisper White piece I stamped using the Garden in Bloom set.  I started with the greeting and stamped it with Tip Top Taupe.  Then I used the outline images from the set and stamped randomly with Tip Top Taupe.  I then used the full flower image and stamped with Delightful Dijon and the full leave image and stamped with Mint Macaron.  My Whisper White layer is about 3 x 4, and then layered at an angle and trimmed to match the dsp.  I tied some Delightful Dijon Dotted Lace trim around the dsp layer before mounting it on the Tip Top Taupe base.  Thanks so much for stopping by.

Lovely as a Tree landscape

Hello, welcome back.  I saw a card similar to this on Pinterest and I fell in love with the sponging and the reflection so I thought I would give it a shot.  I started with a base of Pool Party (8 1/2 X 5 1/2, scored in half) and then a layer of Basic Black (5 1/4 X 4).  My next layer started out as Whisper White (5 X 3 3/4), but with all of the sponging, you would never be able to tell.  I started and sponged both the top and bottom of the white with pool party.  I then masked it off with post-it notes and sponged in Smoky Slate.  I tried to make it look like mountains with it being a little darker at the top.  I then did the same thing to the bottom creating my reflection of the mountains.  I used the Archival Black Ink and stamped the trees from Lovely as a Tree stamp set.  I stamped the same image on vellum card stock and flipped it over, making sure to line up the trees, and then just rubbed it over my sponging.  I wasn't sure it was going to turn out, but love how it did.  I then sponged a little more at the roots of the trees for the ground.  I used the stamp set And Many More for my greeting.
Thanks so much for stopping by, I appreciate it!

Wild About Flowers

Hello, welcome to my blog.  I have been MIA but my goal is to get better about posting every day.  I needed a thank you card for a co-worker of mine and I just love how this turned out.  I CASE'd it from a card I saw Frenchie do and changed it up a little.  My base is Wisteria Wonder, then a layer of Soft Sky.  I then used Thick Whisper White.  On the thick white I used a I used a B block and inked it up with So Saffron, Wisteria Wonder and Wild Wasabi.  I then used the Wild About Flowers stamp set for the flowers.  The stems are in Mossy Meadow and the flower heads are Hello Honey.  I stamped the greeting in Blackberry Bliss using the Cottage Greetings stamp set.  A little crocheted lace trim finishes it off.  Thanks so much for stopping by!
