Gathering Together Fall Fun Fold Card Tutorial

My share today is a fun fold with gorgeous designer paper. I have the supplies and instructions below for you as well as a video.

Supplies Needed

  • Cardstock: Basic Beige, Old Olive

  • Designer Series Paper: Gathering Together DSP

  • Twine: Early Espresso & Old Olive

  • Dies: Label Me Grateful, Words for the Season

  • Adhesives: Your choice (tape runner, liquid glue, dimensionals)

  • Optional: Gold Foil for sprigs

Card Base

  1. Cut Basic Beige cardstock to 8 ½" x 5 ½".

  2. Score at 4 ¼" to create a standard card base.

  3. On the front of the card, mark 2" down on the right-hand side.

  4. Score diagonally from that mark to the top left corner of the card front.

Old Olive Layer

  1. Cut Old Olive cardstock to 3 ¾" x 5 ¼".

  2. On the right-hand side, mark 1 ¾" down.

  3. Cut diagonally from the top left corner to that mark.

  4. Save the triangle cut-off piece for later.

Designer Series Paper Layer

  1. Cut Gathering Together DSP to 3 ½" x 5".

  2. On the right-hand side, mark 1 5/8" down.

  3. Cut diagonally from the top left corner to that mark.

  4. Save the triangle cut-off piece as well.

Assembling the Front

  1. Adhere the DSP layer to the Old Olive layer.

  2. Attach this combined piece to the card front, ensuring it does not go past the diagonal score line.

  3. Trim any edges as needed so the borders on the left, right, and bottom are even.

  4. For the cut-off triangles, flip them over, adhere them together, and place them on the triangle section of the card front.

Inside of the Card

  1. Cut the words “Autumn Wishes” from the Words for the Season dies:

    • One in Early Espresso

    • One in Crushed Curry

  2. Adhere them together, Early Espresso at the back, creating a shadow effect.

Decorating the Front

  1. Cut leaves using the Label Me Grateful dies:

    • Leaves from Old Olive

    • Small sprig from Gold Foil

  2. Combine Early Espresso & Old Olive twine and tie a double bow.

  3. Arrange the leaves, sprig, and twine bow in a small cluster and adhere it to the folded triangle on the card front.

✅ Tip: This fun fold adds dimension to your card and makes it perfect for autumn greetings. Play with different DSP patterns and twine colors for variation!

Create a Stunning Overlapping Gatefold Card with Perfectly Pears and Branching Out Dies

Looking for a unique and elegant card design? Today, we’re making an overlapping gatefold card with layers of Designer Series Paper, Stampin’ Up! Perfectly Pears bundle, and the Branching Out dies. This card opens in a fun way and gives plenty of space for decoration inside. Perfect for birthdays, thank yous, or just because!

Supplies Needed:

  • Old Olive cardstock (card base)

  • Mossy Meadow cardstock

  • Basic Beige cardstock

  • Painterly Pears Designer Series Paper

  • Branching Out die set

  • Pear stamps (single and double)

  • Stampin’ Blends (Pecan Pie, Light & Dark Old Olive)

  • Inks: Darling Duckling, Timid Tiger, Pecan Pie, Basic Beige

  • Stampin’ Dimensionals & glue dots

  • Bone folder

  • Adhesive

Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Card Base

Cut Old Olive cardstock to 10¾" × 5½". Score 1⅝" and 3¼" from each end. Fold outside lines as mountains and inside lines as valleys. Use a bone folder for crisp folds.

2. Right Panel

Cut Mossy Meadow (3⅛" × 4⅜"), Basic Beige (3" × 4¼"), and Painterly Pears DSP (2¾" × 4"). Layer and then add adhesive on the right side, but not more that about ¾" of adhesive. Attach to the right flap leaving about a ¼" border on the right.

3. Left Panel

Cut Mossy Meadow (3⅛" × 5⅛"), Basic Beige (2¾" × 4¼"), Painterly Pears DSP (2¾" × 4¾"). Die-cut the Branching Out shape from Basic Beige. Layer and attach to left flap, only along the left ¾" edge so it tucks behind the right panel.

4. Stamp the Pears

On Basic Beige (3" × 5"), stamp the single pear, stem & leaves, and double pear. Color stems with Pecan Pie, leaves with Old Olive Blends. Two-step stamp the pears with Darling Duckling and sponge Timid Tiger around one edge. Die-cut the pieces.

5. Finish the Branching Out Label

Stamp “Hello Friend” in Mossy Meadow on the Branching Out die-cut. Add small dotted splatters with Basic Beige ink.

6. Assemble the Pears

Attach the stem to the single pear with a glue dot. Add dimensionals to the pears and leaves. Attach them to the Branching Out die.

7. Attach the Focal Point

Adhere the completed Branching Out die-cut to the center of the left panel.

8. Inside of the Card

Add Painterly Pears DSP (1½" × 5¼") to the right inside panel. Center Mossy Meadow (3" × 4¼") inside the card. On Basic Beige (2¾" × 4"), stamp three small flower outlines in the bottom right corner and color centers with Darling Duckling. Adhere on top.

9. Envelope

Stamp either the single or double pear on the bottom left corner. Finish with coloring and details as on the card front.

This overlapping gatefold card is a stunning and interactive way to showcase your stamping skills. Layering, die-cutting, and two-step stamping give it a professional finish that friends and family will love. Try changing up your colors or Designer Series Paper to make each card uniquely yours!
