One Sheet Box

I know I already posted today, but I promised my roomies from convention that I would send them the instructions on how to make this cute little box.  This was my pillow gift to them.  In the inside I put a sewing kit, gum, chap stick and a few band-aids.  The great thing about these boxes is that they will store flat so you can make a bunch and keep them on hand for last minute gifts.  The belly band for the box can be any width but needs to be 10" long. I didn't score the band, I just wrapped it around my box and then reinforced my folds.

I am going to attempt to show you how to make these cute little boxes.  They are made with one sheet of 12 x 12 designer series paper, scored on one side at 1 1/2, 3, 3 3/4, 8 1/4, 9, 10 1/2.  Turn the paper 90 degrees and score at 3, 4 1/2, 7 1/2 and 9

With the 4 1/2" score line at the bottom, fold all the corners into the 4 1/2" line

On the other side, fold on the 1 1/2" line on each side.  You will then pop out the corners and re-fold
back down.  Make sure the corners are folded back down with the "flaps" going in the direction below.  I had some issues trying to remember how to make them hence the ripped paper where I had to pull apart and re-tape.

Add your sticky strip and then fold on the 3 3/4" line on each side.  The sides should meet in the middle.

You will then open up your box and fold back the corners so that the box is reinforced.  There will be score lines on the sides that you can fold along to make the shape of your box more like a square.

Phew..... I think you should be able to follow along from here but please don't hesitate to contact me if you need some help.
