Dec 2013 Pages

Here it is, not quite the end of November and I already have my December scrapbook pages done.  Woo Hoo!!  It seams lately, I have been doing them the day before my class.  I much prefer to have them done earlier so there is not so much stress.  The inspiration for these pages came to me from a card I saw with the chimney and Santa's boots sticking out.  Love how it turned out.  The rest of the pages are really quite simple.

BOO Wreath

Today's share is my Halloween wreath.  I am a little late, but thought it was too cute not to share.  I used a solid styrofoam circle as my base.  I cut 6 or 7 pages of Witches Brew dsp into 1/2" X 12" strips and then curled them with my bone folder.  Using straight pins, I attached the strips to the base.  My scallop rosettes were attached to the wreath with a hot glue gun and some Champagne glimmer paper curls finish it off.

Brr Banner

This cute little banner was made at a class I attended using the Build a Banner Simply
Created Kit and the Christmas Banner Simply Created Accessory Kit.  I added some of the snowflakes that were available as a kit as well.  Most of the banners I have seen go horizontal, but I decided to make mine go vertical.  The little wall that it is on is right at my front door and fits perfect.  I could seriously get addicted to making these.

Team Swap

Hello, Happy Monday!

This is a really quick and simple card, but I loved how it turned out.  My friend, Frenchie, did a card very similar to this for a thank you.  I loved it so much, I turned mine into a Christmas card.  I used the stamp sets Everything Eleanor stamped in Old Olive and More Merry Messages stamped in Cherry Cobbler and cut with the Apothecary Accents.  The mat for the greeting is stamped in Crumb Cake and then hand cut.   You could stamp the crumb cake first on the base of the card and then mask it to stamp the Old Olive swirls.  I prefer hand cutting it.  The dsp is from the Season of Style stack and I just cut strips of different widths and made them into pennants.  A few jewels give it some bling and finish it off.

Very Merry

Hello, my share today is a very simple Christmas card.  The pennants are really popular right now, and I just love using them.  I started off with a Cherry Cobbler base and then added a layer of crumb cake embossed with the Beautifully Baroque folder.  I sponged the embossing with a little crumb cake as well.  My pennants are 1/2" x 3 and I used the Season of Style dsp stack to make them.  They are sponged with cherry cobbler.  I added some cherry cobbler seam binding along with whisper white 1/4" stitched grosgrain ribbon and cherry cobbler baker's twine.  My greeting is the Very Merry stamp set stamped in crumb cake.  I punched it with the Small Oval and then mounted it cherry cobbler punched with the Mosaic punch.

Thanks so much for stopping by, I appreciate it!!

November 2013 pages

This month for my scrapbook class I wanted to do fall/Thanksgiving pages. I participated in scrapbook page swaps at convention and got my basic idea from a fellow demonstrator.  Of course I switched it up a bit, but the background stamping was what drew me to these pages.  I love how they turned out.

My supplies:

card stock:  Whisper White, Soft Sky, Sahara Sand, Chocolate Chip
dsp: Sweater Weather
stamp sets:  Gently Falling
ink: Chocolate Chip, Crushed Curry, Sahara Sand, Soft Sky Tangerine Tango
accessories:  Expression thinlits, Autumn Accents die (for my leaves I sprayed them with water and crumpled them up.  after they were dried I sponged with the same color), Hung Up Cute Clips

Very simple pages, but love the look of them.

Team Challenge - Foil Paper

Hello, it's time again to share the card I made using the supplies provided to the team by Frenchie.  In October she gave us a piece of gold foil paper and silver foil paper found on page 28 of the Holiday Catalog, #132622 for gold and #132178 for silver.  When we get these supplies, there are no rules on how to use it, we just need to make a full card for the next month's meeting.  I wasn't sure how to use it, but got the Stampin' Success magazine last week in the mail and saw embossed ornaments on a card. I am trying to get better about taking the party to the inside of the card so I added an ornament and some dsp paper.
